Talking about Startups and Business

Imagination vs Implementation

Who’s more important in a business:

1. The person who dreams, or
2. The person who executes?

It’s not a trick question. Both are equally important.

The strategist generates the idea, while the implementer brings it to life.

Here’s the kicker: the strategist does not necessarily have to be the implementer.

In fact, it’s often better if they aren’t – for a simple reason.

The strategist tends to see the big picture.

They see opportunities, angles, and connections that most of us miss.

But when it comes to the details and logistics, they tend to struggle.

Now, here’s where the problem lies: the dreamer is often seen as the crazy one.

They’re the one who talks about abstract things, who doesn’t conform to the norm.

And sometimes, they fail to convince people of their vision.

But here’s the thing: there’s no need to convince people.

The dreamer’s role is to provide direction, to guide and inspire.

The implementer’s role is the building.

So, if you’re a dreamer, stop trying to execute.

Instead, embrace your role and keep dreaming.

And if you’re an implementer, be patient with the dreamer.

Without them, there’s no direction and no growth.
