It’s okay to change lanes – sometimes, the road you’re on isn’t the right one.
And it’s okay to make a U-turn, find another interstate, or take an exit to a rural highway.
Within reason, I think the pursuit of happiness is greatly important, as long as you understand the internal and external risks.
Sure, there are sunk costs with staying in a job – you’ll have to work extra hard to make a change.
But, if your heart’s not in what you’re currently doing, you may not ever be truly happy, and you might find yourself doing a bad job which isn’t fair for anyone.
Why not explore other lanes?
– Take a course
– Build a side business
– Ask for a transfer
– Jump to a startup
– Buy an existing business
It’s never too late to change lanes, try something new, or find your passion.
Go on, take the leap.
Don’t get caught up either, a lot of people have advice. Some may not understand what you’re doing. If you are clever you’ll find your way, and being underestimated is a gift. Don’t try to convince, just execute.
